Petbnb Referral Programme Terms and Conditions

Overview

The Petbnb Referral Programme (the “Programme”) allows you to enable other pet lovers to discover Petbnb by helping them to connect with trusted sitters or start their own pet-sitting journey. By participating, you can earn rewards for successful referrals that meet our conditions. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Programme. By taking part, you agree to these terms, as well as our general Terms of Service.

Eligibility

For Referrers (Users and Non-Users)

  • Must be at least 18 years old and reside in Germany, the Netherlands, or Belgium.
  • Must not have any history of fraud, misuse, or misconduct with Petbnb.

Eligible Referrers Include:

  • Existing Petbnb Users: Users with an active account can access their referral link via their account dashboard on the website or via the “More” menu in the app.
  • Non-Users of Petbnb: Non-users can participate by registering their interest at blog.petbnb.de/referral. Upon approval, they will receive a personalised referral link. Petbnb can, in its sole discretion, decide whether to approve a non-user.

For Referred Individuals

  • Must be new to Petbnb and not have an existing account.
  • Must sign up using the referrer’s unique link.
  • Must complete Qualifying Actions (see Section 4: Qualifying Actions) within the specified timeframe of 180 days (see Section 6: Link Validity and Timeframes).

Rewards

Types of Rewards

  • For Referring New Sitters: Subject to Section 2, earn €5 for each sitter referral once the sitter: Completes the verification process, Passes our quality checks, Becomes active on the platform, and Completes their first booking.
  • For Referring New Pet Owners: Petbnb Users: Subject to Section 2, earn €10 credit on your Petbnb account when a referred pet owner completes their first booking. The referred person will also receive a €10 discount towards their first booking. Non-Users: Subject to Section 2, earn €5 for each referred pet owner who completes their first booking.

Reward Usage

For Petbnb Users: Rewards are credited to your Petbnb account and can only be used for future bookings. Referral credits are: Non-transferable, Non-combinable across accounts, and Cannot be redeemed for cash.

Redeeming Referral Credit: Credits can be used as part or full payment for any Petbnb service (boarding, day care, walking, drop-in visits, or house sitting). If the booking amount is less than or equal to the value of the credit, a nominal €2 fee will be charged for insurance purposes, to cover insurance and transaction costs. Any unused credit beyond the booking amount will be forfeited (i.e., if a €10 credit is used for a €5 booking, the remaining €5 will not be usable for future bookings). Petbnb credit can only be applied towards bookings with a minimum total value (excluding service fees) of €50 (a “Qualifying Booking”). Credits automatically appear on the checkout page for eligible bookings.

For Non-Users: Rewards are issued monthly via the preferred payment method provided during registration. Participants will also receive a monthly summary of sign-ups and rewards.

Validity of Rewards: Rewards are valid for 12 months from the date they are credited. After this period they expire and cannot be used.

Qualifying Actions

A referral qualifies for rewards when the referred individual: New Sitters: Completes the verification process, passes quality checks, becomes active on the platform, and completes their first booking. New Pet Owners: Completes their first Qualifying Booking; For the avoidance of doubt, a booking is only defined as completed if it is not refunded in part or in full.

Fraud Prevention and Restrictions

To maintain programme integrity: Self-referrals are strictly prohibited. Referral links must only be shared with personal connections (friends, family, or clients). Participants may share links on personal social media channels but must not use public forums, coupon sites, or spam tactics. Referred individuals cannot share the same payment details, device, or email address as the referrer. Petbnb reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether a referral violates these terms or constitutes fraud, misuse, or misconduct. All decisions made by Petbnb regarding the Referral Programme, including the validation of referrals and issuance of rewards, are final and binding. In cases where fraud, misuse, or any other abuse is identified, Petbnb reserves the right to deem all existing rewards null and void, regardless of whether they have already been issued or redeemed.

Link Validity and Timeframes

Referred users must complete the required qualifying actions (see Section 4: Qualifying Actions) within 180 days of signing up to Petbnb via the referral link to be eligible. If the required actions are not completed within this timeframe, the referral link will expire, and the referrer will not receive any rewards associated with that link.

Taxes and Legal Compliance

Rewards may be subject to local tax regulations, and participants are solely responsible for any tax liabilities that arise. Petbnb reserves the right to withhold rewards if required to comply with applicable laws or regulations.

Cancellation of Bookings

If a referred user’s booking is cancelled, rewards earned for that booking will be invalidated. Important: Credits issued for referrals are non-refundable.

Updates and Changes to the Programme

Petbnb reserves the right to: Modify or terminate the Referral Programme at any time without prior notice. Adjust reward values, eligibility criteria, or other terms as necessary. Honour rewards earned under the terms that were in place at the time of the successful referral.

Privacy and Data Protection

Petbnb collects and processes your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes data submitted through the referral programme. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Dispute Resolution

If you believe there has been an error in your referral rewards or activity, contact us at hulp@petbnb.nl with supporting documentation. Petbnb reserves the right to review and resolve disputes at its discretion.

Compliance with Anti-Spam Laws

The referral programme is intended for legitimate purposes only. Participants must not use the programme to engage in bribery, corruption, or any illegal activities. Spam tactics to promote referral links are strictly prohibited.

Limitations

Referral credits are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. For existing users of Petbnb, rewards are exclusively credited to the referrer’s Petbnb account and can only be used for future bookings on the platform. Referral links and rewards are subject to validation and may be voided if Petbnb suspects misuse.
